Year in Review: Whether it is Inclusivity, Free Speech, or Student Conduct, Student Life Remains Central to the Campus Experience
This is the fourth year ACUI has examined the topics that impacted campuses the most in the previous year. Common threads have emerged over the years—recovering from the pandemic, student well-being, free speech, DEI, financial stability, and more. Once again, the Year in Review cannot avoid examining the ongoing challenges facing DEI efforts, maintaining sound financial footing, and providing for student success at the student union. In this article, we look at the changing landscape for DEI and examine the ramifications of the intersection of the U.S. Presidential Election and student protests surrounding the Israel-Hamas war.
