The Bulletin is continuing its State of the College Union series of articles and webinars that analyze the most current and affecting issues facing the Association’s members. In this webinar, ACUI CEO John Taylor hosts  co-authors Winston Bao, Adam Dunbar, and Jill Zambito as they examine wellness and well-being frameworks and best practices designed to strengthen campus community on the individual and collective levels. You are encouraged to read the Bulletin article by the presenters that will guide this discussion.

About the Presenters
  • Winston Bao is a design director at LPA, where he is focused on how design can shape experiences and solutions that provide practical value while celebrating the client’s unique culture. His integrated approach to the design process creates synergy between human experience, sustainability, community, and wellness that have a meaningful impact on the lives of those who use them. He encourages a collaborative planning process focused on goal-setting and measurable outcomes that ensure the delivery of innovative concepts.  
  • Adam Dunbar is director of the student center and gaming operations at the University of Massachusetts–Lowell. As an involved ACUI member since 2008 and professional in the field of higher education since 2014, he understands the student center is always evolving. He continuously seeks out collaborative opportunities to leverage physical space and create places where students can learn, grow, and thrive.  
  • Dr. Jill Zambito serves as the assistant vice chancellor for health and wellness in the Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee–Knoxville, where she leads departments focused on providing student support and services including the Center for Care & Resilience, Center for Health Education & Wellness, Student Counseling Center, Student Health Center, and RecSports. She also co-chairs the student Threat Assessment Team and teaches Introduction to Student Affairs in the College Student Personnel Master’s Program.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of attending this program, participants will:

  • Assess and identify gaps in wellness programming.  
  • Introduce others to neuro-inclusive design elements.  
  • How to introduce and integrate wellness initiatives in programming.
