Keynote
Eddie Vega, San Antonio Poet Laureate

Eddie Vega is a poet, storyteller, spoken word artist, and educator. The author of Chicharra Chorus (FlowerSong Press, 2019) and Somos Nopales (FlowerSong Press, 2024), his poetry also appears along the San Pedro Creek Cultural Park. He is the editor of Asina is How We Talk, a collection of Tejano poetry. A Macondo Workshop Fellow, Vega directs the Mouth Dakota Poetry Project and currently serves as the 7th Poet Laureate of San Antonio.

Keynote
Dr. Paige Haber-Curran, Texas State University

Paige Haber-Curran, Ph.D. (she/her/hers) is professor and program coordinator for the Student Affairs in Higher Education master’s program at Texas State University. In 2018 she served as a Fulbright Scholar in Austria. Paige’s research and scholarly work focuses on college student leadership development, gender and leadership, emotionally intelligent leadership, and effective teaching pedagogy. She authored and edited 5 books including Emotionally Intelligent Leadership: A Guide for Students, which is the focus of her session at the ACUI Region II Conference.

Region II will host a graphics competition at the conference. For the full guidelines and more information, please CLICK HERE. Staff and Students are encouraged to submit items in the following categories:

  • Brochures: Bi-fold or tri-fold brochures eligible. Includes information about offices, programs, etc.
  • Calendars/schedules: multi or single page
  • Digital campaigns: website, social media, etc. Must print a display of the campaign.
  • Logo/brand identity: printed copies of logos/branding materials
  • Miscellaneous: Items such as window displays, decorations, giveaways, etc.
    • Submissions can be made in the form of a printed picture or by bringing in the promotional item.
  • Multi-page publications: magazines, annual reports, etc.
  • Posters: 11×17 or smaller
  • Promotional campaigns: includes several items for promotion of the same thing
    • Needs to be displayed all together such as on poster board or digital collage.
  • T-shirt/item of clothing: Must be displayed on a poster board.
