Ongoing course faculty/content experts/webinar presenters support online learning programs that advance the educational needs of members. These volunteers have an opportunity to share their knowledge and advice, develop their verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and increase their visibility in the profession.

This is an Association-level contributing volunteer position, ideal for those interested in curating content for other members, reviewing materials to help make decisions, sharing expertise to build credibility, and welcoming participants at events.

Reporting to the assistant director for online learning and certification, for a six-month rolling term as agreed upon by the volunteer and ACUI, volunteers are responsible for:

  • Faculty: Contributing to the educational mission of the Association through facilitation of at least one ACUI online course, as needed by the Association.
  • Faculty: Completing faculty training, including online and synchronous segments.
  • Faculty: Nurturing students enrolled in the course(s) and providing support when needed.
  • Content Experts: Meeting with an instructional designer and other content experts to design and develop content for one or more online courses.
  • Content Experts: Developing lecture notes, presentation materials, and other course content, as needed.
  • Webinar Presenter: Sharing areas of expertise for topic areas on which the contributor is qualified to present.
  • Webinar Presenter: Attending at least one presenter prep meeting to cover logistics and technology for the session.
  • All: Staying abreast of due dates, paperwork, and ACUI guidelines and policies regarding online learning programs.

Opportunities to contribute open up at various times throughout the year, and appointments could be made as needs occur on a rolling bases. This short-term position will not require an interview as part of the application process. 

At the time of application, individuals must have: membership in ACUI; a commitment to fulfilling the duties of the position; and organization/supervisor awareness of the commitment. Applicants must also demonstrate an understanding of ACUI’s vision, core values, and core competencies, as well as the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. 

  • Webinar Presenter: A few hours, spread between presenter prep session, paperwork, creating the presentation, and delivery,
  • Faculty: Approximately two hours per week for up to three months.
  • Content Experts: Approximately two hours per week for three to six months.
