Full Course: Inclusive Spaces
October 7, 2024 – November 30, 2024 EDT
This training will provide valuable content for creating and maintaining union/student center environments that welcome, respect and honor all individuals. Topics covered will include accessibility, cultural audits of art and campus icons, employment practices, programming policies, and more.
Faculty for this course are Jordy Dickey and Jeremy Davis. The registration deadline is September 30.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE
Students will be able to:
- Explain how environment shapes behavior.
- Describe how environments can include and engage all students.
- Conduct a cultural audit of spaces and traditions in order to make effective environment changes.
- Ensure policies and procedures for events and practices are welcoming and accessible for all participants.
