Life-long learning is a core value of ACUI. With this in mind, we are excited to offer scholarships to help our members achieve Certified Student Affairs Educator – College Union (CSAEd-CU).

Certification is a tremendous benefit for ACUI’s members, particularly mid-level professionals who represent the future of the Association. Certification establishes a standard of knowledge, skills, and experiences for professionals with a comprehensive means for documenting mastery. In addition to enhanced career pathways, certification helps ensure the credibility, integrity, and future success of the college union profession.

Scholarships are made possible through the generous support of donors through the Investing in Our Profession campaign.

Individuals may apply for up to $250 in scholarship support to cover any combination of the fees listed below:

  • $149 for the College Unions specialty exam concurrent with CSAEd™ core exam
  • $175 for the College Unions specialty exam only
  • $75 for the ACUI Certification Prep Program

Note that the CSAEd™ core exam must be taken either concurrently with or prior to the College Union specialty exam.

  • Applicants must hold a current ACUI membership and meet the eligibility requirements of the CSAEd™ certification program at the time of application.
  • No more than two applicants will be awarded per institution per certification window.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have not previously attempted the exam.

The review process includes, but is not limited to, an assessment of the criteria listed below. The applicant must submit a brief personal essay demonstrating the following:

  • The importance the profession has in advancing campus community
  • How the certification will help you build community on your campus
  • How the certification will assist your career plans and goals
  • How you have contributed and/or will contribute to the future of the profession
  • Commitment to giving back to ACUI

Funds will be available during each exam window. Individuals may apply until two weeks prior to each exam application deadline. Those wishing to apply funds towards the ACUI Certification Prep Program can do so at any time.

As funds remain after the close of each exam window, additional opportunities for funding requests will reopen during the next exam window.
