Current Open Position

LEAD SALES REPRESENTATIVE (INSIDE SALES)

The lead sales representative plays an important role for growing ACUI’s membership and increasing corporate partner support and revenue. This position is responsible for active sales to campuses to become ACUI members, and to adjacent businesses to engage and be exposed to members through exhibiting and advertising with ACUI. There is also opportunity to grow sales for smaller ACUI  services such as Promos and A/V, and to establish student interns to be part of a sales team.  

CORPORATE PARTNER PROGRAM (25%) 
  • Research and source sales opportunities for business partners to exhibit at the ACUI annual conference 
  • Process inbound sales inquiries, lead follow-up, and renewal sales efforts for corporate partner exhibitors, sponsors and advertising customers 
  • Initiate outbound cold calls and emails to drive sales and revenue growth 
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects 
  • Understand customer interests and products connected to college unions and ACUI members 
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas, track leads and volume via CRM 
  • Perform effective sales techniques through introductory telephone calls and online video demonstrations 
  • Submit annual marketing plan and provide input to ACUI marketing team for design of media kits and other sales and marketing collateral 
  • Administer functional processes such as renewal notices, invoicing, and payments  
  • Assist assistant director and other ACUI staff as needed with related corporate partner features, such as sponsorship opportunities and exposition logistics 
INSTITUTIONAL MEMBER SALES (25%) 
  • Research and source sales opportunities for new ACUI institutional members 
  • Discover leads through associated opportunities such as college union building projects, non-member attendees at ACUI events, and inquiring with current members 
  • Initiate outbound cold calls and emails to drive sales and revenue growth 
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects 
  • Understand ACUI value proposition to attract new members and convey how ACUI meets customer needs 
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas, track leads and volume via CRM 
  • Perform effective sales techniques through introductory telephone calls and online video demonstrations 
  • Submit annual marketing plan and provide input to ACUI marketing team for design of media kits and other sales and marketing collateral 
  • Administer functional processes such as invoicing and payments 
  • Assist director of outreach and other ACUI staff as needed with related membership efforts 
ADVERTISING SALES (20%) 
  • Research and source advertising sales opportunities, including current ACUI corporate partners 
  • Initiate outbound cold calls and emails to drive sales and revenue growth 
  • Perform effective advertising sales techniques for the ACUI Bulletin (quarterly magazine and enewsletter), website, and Clay Targets  
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects 
  • Understand customer interests and products to match with effective advertising 
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas, track leads and volume via CRM 
  • Submit annual marketing plan and provide input to ACUI marketing team for design of media kits and other sales and marketing collateral 
  • Administer functional processes such as invoicing and payments 
OTHER BUSINESS SALES (20%) 
  • Research and source sales opportunities for other ACUI business, including Procure, Promos, and A/V 
  • Oversee Procure business partnerships which include a handful of full-service and marketing-only partners  
  • Initiate Promos sales efforts, including expansion to campus student organizations 
  • Initiate A/V sales for partner conferences and events 
  • Initiate outbound cold calls and emails to drive sales and revenue growth 
  • Maintain and expand a database of prospects 
  • Understand customer interests and products connected to college unions and ACUI members 
  • Close sales and achieve quarterly quotas, track leads and volume via CRM 
  • Perform effective sales techniques through introductory telephone calls and online video demonstrations 
  • Submit annual marketing plan and provide input to ACUI marketing team for design of media kits and other sales and marketing collateral 
  • Administer functional processes such as MOU’s, invoicing and payments 
STUDENT/INTERN SALES OVERSITE (10%) 
  • Recruit and oversee student intern sales team 
  • Train in sales technique to utilize resources, make cold calls, and draft follow-up communication 
  • Establish system to track leads and volume, and keep the CRM updated 
  • Maintain positive team morale, track metrics and growth 
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in sales or business development roles
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a relentless drive to succeed
  • Experience with CRM software and sales automation tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
