Coronavirus Impacts Planned Events
Update: Please find more details on current and future ACUI event plans here.
As you are aware, the situation with the coronavirus has been fluid, with significant developments hourly. College campuses are making necessary adjustments to operations such as moving to virtual classes, limiting larger events, and putting restrictions on non-essential travel. Increases in the number of campuses imposing travel restrictions has grown dramatically, and many of our attendees have indicated this preventing them from attending ACUI events.
After much deliberation, we made the difficult decision to postpone the Annual Conference, Collegiate Clay Targets Championship, and the Region III Inclusivity Summit. There were many contributing factors, much thoughtful discussion, and some soul searching. All of our members are first and foremost committed to the health and safety, campus community, and students they serve.
Those who had registered for the ACUI Annual Conference (in Atlanta or for the virtual experience) will receive information related to future plans as those details are determined. This will likely take several weeks.
We currently working with our partners at the National Shooting Complex to reschedule the Collegiate Clay Targets Championship in May or June. For now, we’ll plan to keep everyone registered as they currently are, until we’re able to secure new dates and will work through conflicts and cancellations once a plan is in place. We are committed to preserving eligibility for those athletes who would have competed this month.
Additionally, ACUI and its partner campuses have decided to cancel the the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational as well as the remainder of the billiards season, including all upcoming sectionals, independent qualifiers, and the championships. Registrants of these events will receive instructions via email about next steps. If you have questions or concerns, please email [email protected].
Recognizing that the coronavirus situation will continue to evolve over the coming weeks, the following sources may be helpful to have the most current information.

- World Health Organization (WHO)
- American College Health Association (ACHA)
We are currently evaluating a number of scenarios and contingencies for upcoming events and ask for your patience as these plans are determined. Thank you for your support, continued engagement, and commitment to ACUI as your professional association.
