ACUI’s The Bulletin Moves to “Online Only” Content

Due to the changing nature of our work environments, the lack of access to campus mail, and the ability and demand to provide different types of content electronically, ACUI will distribute The Bulletin editions scheduled for the May-June and July-August through online resources only. 

Expect the same articles, research reviews, timely news, and messages from ACUI’s leadership as you have in the past, along with popular recurring features like Union Spotlights, On the Job, and Kiosk items. In addition, ACUI will be conducting follow-up virtual roundtables with the authors of various articles to allow for in-depth discussion on topics related to the role of the college union, ACUI’s core competencies, leadership methodology, resilience during the time of coronavirus, and other timely subject matter. 

Members will be notified of the publication of new content and the roundtables through social media, the Association’s biweekly Bulletin electronic newsletter, and the website. The first virtual roundtable by Bulletin contributors will be May 12 with Danielle M. DeSawal, a clinical professor for higher education and student affairs at Indiana University; Leah Barrett, president of Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska; and Debra L. Hammond, executive director of the University Student Union at California State University–Northridge. Together, they will discuss “Research Confirms Role of the College Union Aligns with Institutional Academic Mission,” the first article in a three-part series that looks at how the role of the college union contributes to student learning and success in a complex higher education environment.
